The conversation between Jelena Vidojević and Sergey Karaganov published in the Brave New Europe
The inaugural interview in the New South Institute’s Missing Voices: Critical Thinking in Times of Polycrisis series has been published. The series was published by the London-based platform Brave New Europe. In this extended conversation, Jelena Vidojević speaks with Russian political analyst Sergey Karaganov about the historical roots and contemporary dynamics of the global crisis, the decline of Western hegemony and the prospects for a more multipolar international order.
The Missing Voices project aims to highlight perspectives that are often overlooked or dismissed in mainstream policy and academic discussions. Through a series of in-depth interviews, the project seeks to contribute to a more plural and critical understanding of global transformations, particularly from the standpoint of actors in the Global South and those outside dominant interpretive frameworks.
Readers are invited to explore the interview with Karaganov on the Brave New Europe website. Two additional conversations in the series − one with Ayşe Zarakol on 23 May 2025 and another with Miloš Hrnjaz on 29 May 2025 − are available on the NSI’s website. Further interviews will be released in the coming weeks.
