Delani Majola

Delani Majola is the Media Liaison Officer at the New South Institute (NSI), bringing extensive experience in media, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Trained as a journalist at the Durban University of Technology and Tshwane University of Technology, Delani started his career as a freelance writer for a local newspaper before moving into online publishing, where he helped establish a campus publication and served as a section editor. He also gained valuable experience in broadcast media, working at Eastwave 92.2 FM.

Before joining NSI, Delani spent eight years as the Communications Manager at the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, where he played a key role in shaping and positioning the brand. His experience in media and communications, combined with his ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments, equips him to effectively manage NSI’s media relations and ensure the institute’s work reaches the right audiences. Delani is excited to contribute to NSI’s mission with his skills in media strategy and stakeholder engagement.
