The New South Institute announces the publication of the paper “Basic Analytical Assumptions of Empowering the Periphery: The Telling Experiences of South Africa and the Republic of Serbia”, authored by Radmila Nakarada and Jelena Vidojević. This paper, featured in “Politčke Perspektive“, Vol. 13, No. 2, 2023, provides an in-depth analysis of the implications of global neoliberal capitalism on peripheral societies.

In this research, Nakarada and Vidojević introduce the concept of a “New Common Sense,” a rational and nonviolent perspective representing marginalized communities in the global discourse. The paper discusses the significance of re-evaluating historical narratives and incorporating scientific insights in shaping social and political policies. These elements are crucial for understanding and addressing the challenges faced by societies at the peripheries of global structures.
