In an article published in the Daily Maverick on October 23, 2022, NSI Distinguished Fellow Ms. Radmila Nakarada, who is also a professor of peace studies at the University of Belgrade and a former member of the Yugoslav Committee for Reconciliation and Truth, addresses the challenges to global peacekeeping in times of stability and increasing threats to US global hegemony. In his assessment, it will not be possible to guarantee lasting world peace without a transformation of the exercise of American power (economic and military) and also without the emergence of new diplomatic practices from countries of the Global South.
