NSI joins the School for Thinktankers 2026 cohort in Barcelona
The New South Institute (NSI) has been selected to participate in the 2026 cohort of the School for Thinktankers, On Think Tanks’ flagship professional development programme, currently hosted at Fundació Bofill in Barcelona.
NSI is represented by Revati Baboolal, who is taking part in sessions focused on practical dimensions of think tank leadership and organisational strengthening, including governance, fundraising, communications, and long-term organisational resilience. The programme convenes think tank leaders and senior professionals from across regions to exchange experience and build capabilities that support policy impact.

NSI’s participation forms part of an ongoing relationship with On Think Tanks. In June 2025, NSI served as one of the host organisations for the On Think Tanks Conference in Johannesburg, which brought together think tank professionals, policymakers, and researchers for curated discussions and collaboration. Later that year, NSI was also recognised by On Think Tanks as one of its “100 Think Tanks to Watch in 2025”, reflecting peer recognition within the global think tank community.
Through this continued engagement—from Johannesburg to Barcelona—NSI is strengthening its institutional capacity and deepening connections with global peers working to improve how evidence informs public policy.
