We are delighted to welcome Aaisha Dadi Patel as the New South Institute’s new Senior Communications Officer, effective 1 September.

Aaisha is a proudly South African media professional with a strong foundation in journalism, communications, and research. Most recently, Aaisha was a faculty member at the University of Cape Town, where she taught media and journalism production. She spent three years as an Africa correspondent at the Wall Street Journal after a number of years in South African newsrooms, including Mail & Guardian and The Daily Vox, where her work focused on political and economic issues and developments. Aaisha holds a Masters degree in media studies from the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg). 

We look forward to working with her as we expand our media work, taking it to new audiences across South Africa, Africa, and the world.
