Alan Hirsch to Speak at Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Strategic Planning Session

Johannesburg, South AfricaAlan Hirsch, a research fellow at the New South Institute (NSI) and leader of its Migration Governance Reform (MIGRA) program, has been invited to speak at the Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Strategic Planning Session on 16 July 2024. The event, to be held at the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town, is a key component of the parliament’s preparations for the new five-year strategic period (2025/26 – 2029/30).

The strategic planning session will focus on assessing the effectiveness of the WCPP’s mandate execution during the 6th parliamentary term and deliberating on enhancements and strategies for the current 7th parliamentary term. Hirsch has been asked to provide his insights and perspectives on the evolving political landscape in South Africa. His participation will involve a 30-minute presentation to the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and the WCPP’s Senior Management Team.

This invitation highlights Hirsch’s expertise and the significant role he plays in informing public policy discussions. His contribution is anticipated to provide valuable context and foresight as the WCPP navigates its strategic planning process.
