We are pleased to announce that Michaela Elsbeth Martin has joined the New South Institute team as Head of Strategic Partnerships.

Michaela holds a BA in Governance and Political Transformation, an Honours in International Relations, and a Master’s in Political Science, with research focused on decolonisation and institutional corruption. She brings over five years of experience in the development sector, including four years in higher education as a Teaching Assistant and Junior Lecturer.

A 2019 Mandela Rhodes Scholar, Michaela also contributes to youth empowerment through her work with the Youth Employment Service (YES) and mentors emerging scholars across the continent.

Her expertise and experience make her a valuable addition to the NSI team as we continue to strengthen our partnerships and impact.
